H. George Meyers - 7 Year President and CEO Steps Down

Southern Car Customs Inc was a dream of two brothers and was originally created in 2001. George and Henry Meyers began installing custom car accessories in 2001 for local auto dealers in their family homes carport.  After a few years and a lot of late nights and planning they opened their retail store doors in 2003 in Savannah GA. 

The company began as a small shop with only 4 employees including the two brothers, which catered to local dealers and consumers.  Now that small shop has become a name that is known across the country. With the help quality work, quality products and friends the brothers have made along the way, the company has now grown to cater to customers from all over the United States. Other things that helped the company achieve the status they now live up to include government contracts, installation contracts with national companies, strong dealer presence and providing quality work and customer service.

A letter from H. George Meyers:

Dear valued client,

First and foremost I would like to thank you for your business and support over the past six years.  I am writing today to inform you that as of December 31, 2008 I will be stepping down as president and CEO of Southern Car Customs Inc.

Please know that Southern Car Customs WILL NOT be closing. My family and I will be selling the company to my long time employee and assistant Benjamin L. Gwinner and a long time friend Christopher J. Written.  For the past few months we have been training these gentlemen to run the company as well as teaching them how provide the type of customer service and products that you have become accustom to over the past six years. Please know that all warranties and services will still be upheld by the new owners and very little things if any will change. 

The decision for me and my family to sell and leave the company behind were not b/c of economic reasons or the current economy but due to priority changes in my life.  For some time now I have been very interested in Commercial Real Estate and have decided to leave and begin a new Journey in the Commercial Real Estate world.  In first quarter of 2009, I will be joining forces with W.H. Johnson, owner of the very successful and respected W.H. Johnson Realty Brokerage and becoming one of his commercial/residential real estate agent and property managers.  For the past few months I have been diligently working and taking classes to become a certified Georgia Real Estate agent, GA Certified Property Manager, and a GA Certified Community Association Manager.  I will also begin working on my CCIM Commercial designation in the mid part of 2009.  I have thought long and hard about this decision and have realized that real estate is what seems to be a passion in my life and that this segment of the business market drives me.  I hope that you will join me in my new venture and remember me if you are in the market for any type of real estate either commercial, residential or just needing property management services.
